This summer, The Colborne Street Gallery is breaking new ground with a fiercely political, deceptively cozy exhibition that challenges the boundaries of traditional craft. Opening on July 4, 2026, A Hooker’s Manifesto features the contemporary rug hooking of local artist Linda Smith, serving as a creative response to the re-election of Donald Trump and the erosion of democratic norms south of the border.
The public is warmly invited to attend the opening reception on July 4 from 3 - 5 pm to view these striking works in person, meet the artist, and engage in a unique cultural moment in the heart of the Kawarthas. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.
50% of all proceeds from sales in this exhibition will be donated directly to the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA). The show runs until September 8.
Location 36 Colborne Street, Fenelon Falls, Ontario
